Finn van Drenth
Finn van Drenth is a moving creative, dancer and director, for the battle scene, shows and on screen.
Finn van Drenth is a strong and professionally trained urban/street style dancer (choreography & freestyle) specialising in hiphop, locking and house. Finn has competed in several national and international choreographies in (tv)shows and competitions. From 2014 to 2021 Finn danced with the dutch urban/contemporary Oxygen Crew founded by Jennifer Romen.
Alongside her choreographies, Finn is a freestyle dancer in the (urban/experimental) battle scene, both national and international, known under the name Lil’ China.
Since 2022 she is a dancer with ARTA company led by Tamara Arruti in Belgium, focusing on theatre and shows.
Next to company work she is also focusing on her own movement language, creating a bridge between urban and contemporary styles.
My motivation.
My body is my tool. Being able to use movement as communication is what fascinates me the most. I was and am fortunate enough to be able to train and learn with and from dancers all-over the world. I’m using all this information to develop my own way of movement. To define my style of dance: a bold collaboration of street- and modern styles.
Having a choreography background helps me to be able to control my movement and to guide others where needed. This is the point where film meets dance, next to dance I love dance on screen. Working as a dancer in front and behind off the camera gives me a deeper understanding of both worlds. This is a combination that I would like to explore more in the future.
